Health experts are expressing concern about a trend among some girls and young women with Type 1 diabetes.

It's called "diabulimia." Basically, it means skipping or reducing insulin injections as a way of losing weight.

The danger is, a lack of insulin can mean serious damage to the eyes, kidneys and limbs, and may result in coma and an early death.

Between this and the post below, I'm really, really on board with the writings of Anais Nin now. On the other hand, the shortness of the story and lack of facts makes me wonder if this is just a trend or a fad.
